Cap-and-Trade : H.R. 2454
The Cap-and-Trade Bill is the second largest tax increase in American history, second only to the 16th Amendment which created our current Income Tax System and the IRS.
It has been claimed that this Bill will protect our natural environment by reducing CO2 emissions created by human beings. It has further been claimed that this Bill will creat "green" jobs and that it will not harm California or its citizens. All of these claims are false!
Cap-and-Trade seeks to reduce CO2 emissions by placing a "cap" on the amount of CO2 that any given activity can produce as a waste product. Burning oil or gas produces CO2 emissions, so electricity plants and automobiles are among the millions of target activities to be monitored by the Federal Government. If an activity exceeds the "cap," then the person or organization ingaged in the activity is to be fined (taxed) for the activity. If an activity is below the "cap," then the person or organization ingaged in the activity is to receive a CO2 credit. Persons and organizations will be allowed to "trade" their "caps" for credits - thus the Bill is called "Cap-and-Trade."
Not only will the cost of everything you purchase be increased, as companies seek to recover the fines (taxes) they pay in production, but our National Sovereignty is also compromised because the "trade" market is an internatinal market, which subjects the United States to international laws, regulations, and inspections.
Further, this Bill may create "green" jobs, but for every job it creates, it will eliminate or ship overseas ten American jobs - including tens-of-thousands of California jobs.

Mustang Act : H.R. 1018
The American Mustang Bill is one of the most insidious government cover-ups in recent history.
This Bill claims to protect wild mustangs, which by definition are "wild" and need no "protection." Nevertheless, this Bill spends more than $780 million ($22,600 per horse) in a Federal "land-grab" coverup. What this Bill actually does is federalize land so that the Federal Government can prevent the excavation of shale and natural gas - in other words, this Bill grants our federal politicians more control over the people's natural, energy-producing resouces.
To add insult to injury, this $780 million Bill was passed during our current economic downturn, while millions of Americans are losing their jobs and losing their homes.
