Republican Congressional candidate Clayton Thibodeau visited The Desert Sun's editorial board last week, outlining his plans to vote against any legislation unless it's an issue that's specifically outlined in the Constitution.
He also vowed not to spend more than $48,000 in his effort to unseat Bono Mack in the June GOP primary.
“One of the things that I wanted to demonstrate is that you can beat a big-name incumbent with less than $50,000,” said Thibodeau.

"Bono Mack inherited much of the estate of that district's former representative, Sonny Bono, and won a special election to succeed him in Congress after he was killed in a skiing accident in 1998.
Bono Mack hasn't faced serious opposition until this year. She has a conservative primary opponent in Clayton Thibodeau running under the banner of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Riverside County."

THIS JUST IN
The news just keeps getting better for American Patriots...
Mary Bono-Mack is finally admitting that she is in trouble in the June 8th Republican Primary. This morning (May 14, 2010) at 8:04am Ryan Mahoney, Mack's Campaign Manager, announced "We Need Your Help!"
In a desperate effort to secure votes from Mail-in Voters, before they have a chance to hear Clayton's message, Mahoney is begging Mack's last few supporters to make phone calls and forward emails to secure more votes. Clearly Mack's internal polls are showing the same thing Thibodeau's internal polls revealed weeks ago - Mack only has about 15% of the Republican Vote.
The Clayton Thibodeau for Congress message of Restoring the government to the U.S. Constitution is resonating with Voters.
Mack's too late to the party attempts to stop additional TARP spending can not erase the fact that she voted YES (H.H. 1424) to start TARP in the first place. Mahoney is saying now that Mack is "fighting for a fiscally responsible budget," which again is too late to the dance: last year, Mack voted Yes on Pork Spending (H.R. 1105), Yes on Obama's $8 billion Youth Core (H.R. 1388), and Yes on billions in environmental and wildlife projects.
And need we say it again? The U.S. Senate is now taking-up Cap-and-Trade - this would be the largest tax increase in American history, made possible today because last year, Mary Bono-Mack voted Yes on Cap-and-Trade (H.R. 2454).
Clayton Thibodeau is winning the Republican Primary and proving that people and principles are more important than big money and lobbyists.
